A 2027 full release target, with languages and consoles after the Steam window.

Roadmap to 1.0

Moonless Formless has a short public roadmap: Early Access on 2 September 2026 for PC via Steam, then a full 1.0 release in 2027 that adds remaining optional systems, extra languages, and console versions. This page collects what the studio has actually said. It does not invent quarter-by-quarter dates, named patches, or a console SKU list. For the size of the first Steam package, read Early Access scope. For the change-log index, return to the Updates Hub.

The important split is campaign versus wrapping. The Early Access build includes the entire main story from start to finish. The 2027 pass is not “write the ending.” It is languages, consoles, extra end-game modes, optional content, side quests, New Game+, balance, and polish around a story you can already complete.

2027 full release

Steam’s Early Access FAQ answers “how long will this game be in Early Access?” with a 2027 exit, alongside a release on consoles. The same FAQ lists three buckets for the full version compared with the public PC build:

  • support for additional languages
  • additional end-game features and modes
  • bug fixes, balance changes, polish, and optimization

That is the official skeleton. Everything else on this page is either a restatement of those buckets or a note about what has not been dated. If a social post promises a month inside 2027, wait until it appears on Steam news or witheringrealms.com before you treat it as a wiki fact.

The first public build is still a paid Steam title. Check the store page for the current price. The listing says the Early Access price is planned to sit moderately lower than the later 1.0 price, without naming either figure in our notes.

Languages

Early Access ships English only for interface, audio, and subtitles. Additional languages are planned for the full release in 2027, not as a mid-campaign download in the first week. This fan wiki is written in English, French, German, and Spanish as a player resource; that is not the same as in-game localization. If you need the doll’s menus in another language, wait for 1.0 notes rather than hunting a hidden Steam depot.

Do not assume a specific extra language until Moonless Formless publishes the list. “More languages at full release” is the current statement. A wishlist comment is not a localization contract.

Consoles

Consoles come after Early Access. The studio has discussed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series as targets. Which consoles actually ship, and on which day in 2027, will be announced closer to the full release. There is no public Nintendo SKU in our notes, and this page will not invent one. Until a store listing exists, treat PC Steam as the only platform with a date: 2 September 2026.

A console version will need its own spec sheet, save rules, and trophy or achievement mapping. None of that is documented yet. If you are holding a hardware purchase for Clover, watch official channels, not this paragraph.

New Game+, side quests, and optional content

During Early Access the studio plans to add end-game modes, optional content, and side quests, and to keep balancing the enormous craft and talisman space. New Game+ is part of that post-campaign layer on the way to 1.0. It is not on the September content list next to “seven dungeons” and “one hundred and ten monsters,” so do not expect a second cycle the moment you beat the last story beat unless a later patch says so.

Optional content is the right place for systems that would have delayed the public date: extra routes around Penwyll, more reasons to revisit a dungeon at night, and modes that only make sense after you already know the map. The campaign remaining whole on day one is what makes that sequencing possible. You are not paying for half a ghost story.

Balance and polish run in parallel with those additions. Overpowered talisman combinations are expected. Broken crafts are expected. A community beta in August 2026 already fixed 140 bugs after 24,545 monster kills. That pace only continues if players keep sending slash-key reports instead of assuming a silent hotfix.

What will not be dated here

This wiki will not invent:

  • a month-by-month 2026 patch calendar
  • a list of extra languages beyond “more at 1.0”
  • a locked PS5 / Xbox / other SKU date
  • a New Game+ modifier list
  • a side-quest count

When Steam posts a numbered update, the Updates Hub should gain a page. Until then, the honest roadmap is a year (2027), a platform order (Steam first, consoles after), and a content order (full story now, optional and end-game layers during Early Access).

How to read this next to the rest of the wiki

If you are choosing a PC, system requirements matter more than 2027 console rumors. If you are choosing a doll loadout, the build ranking will move when balance patches land; that movement is a feature of Early Access, not a broken promise. If you are new, Guides and Getting Started still beat a roadmap for the first night in Penwyll.

Withering Realms remains a single-player horror action RPG, not a live-service calendar. The 2027 date is a full-release target, not a weekly content train. Use official Discord and Steam news when you need a yes or no. Use this page when you need the shape of the plan without a fake schedule.

Hold the 2027 label loosely. A solo developer can slip a month without the campaign disappearing. What should not slip, according to the studio’s own Early Access pitch, is the idea that the story is already playable start to finish while the wrapping — languages, consoles, New Game+, side content, and fairness — is allowed to keep moving until 1.0 actually ships.
